Hog Manure Treatment
A major issue in livestock operations is how to deal with the manure the animals produce.
To treat hog manure at the farm, Omya developed specific calcium carbonate slurries such as Lizflow® that greatly reduce odor, improve the color of the liquid and soil pH, and encourage bacterial activity as well as promote mineralization within the manure.
Dosing at source enables the farmers to apply both nutritional material and lime to fields in a single application.
These products are delivered directly to the manure pit at the farming operation, where they are blended with the liquids. The farmer then spreads the mixture in just one run instead of two.
